How Clear Counts works
Clear Counts runs on a small edge computer in each store that reads your existing security cameras, counts people crossing a counting line, and sends only anonymous counts to your cloud dashboard.
- Walkthrough. We review your entrances, cameras and goals.
- Install the edge computer. A small device connects to your existing cameras (Dahua and UniFi tested). No new cameras needed.
- Set counting lines and calibrate. We draw counting lines per camera and calibrate on site. Designed to match commercial counters (95%+ daily totals) with on-site calibration.
- Connect your POS. Clear Counts integrates with your POS to line up hourly traffic against hourly sales.
- See it live. Log in to see “inside now,” hourly and daily traffic, weather overlay and conversion rate. Add viewer logins for your team.
Does video leave my store?
No. Video is processed by the edge computer inside your store and is never uploaded. There is no facial recognition and no stored images, and only anonymous counts go to the cloud. The system was designed with Texas biometric law (CUBI) in mind.
What if something goes offline?
You get a downtime alert by email. SMS alerts are coming soon. An optional overnight re-check refines daily totals.
